NCard Eligibility

The NCard is designed to be a permanent identification card for students and/or employees. It is valid as long as the cardholder is registered and/or employed at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. It is recommended that students and employees on the UNL campus obtain an NCard.

Students attending new student orientation will receive their NCard the day of their orientation. The $20.00 issuance fee is transferred on to the Student Account Consolidated Bill and will not be billed until the September Consolidated Bill for Fall semester and February Consolidated Bill for Spring semester. NCards made for Summer sessions will be paid for at time of issuance.

International students (undergraduate and graduate) and transfer students (undergraduate) must present a voucher from International Affairs along with photo identification to receive the new NCard at the NCard Office. The $20.00 issuance fee is transferred on to the Student Account Consolidated Bill and will not be billed until the September Consolidated Bill for Fall semester and February Consolidated Bill for Spring semester. NCards made for Summer sessions will be paid for at time of issuance.

Domestic graduate, dental, law, re-admit, and students at large may receive their NCard by presenting proof of registration and photo identification at the NCard Office. They are required to pay the $20.00 issuance fee at the time the card is made.

Employees may receive their NCard by presenting a Faculty/Staff application along with photo identification at the NCard Office. The first card is issued free of charge.

Affiliates may receive their NCard by presenting the appropriate application along with photo identification at the NCard Office. There is a $10 issuance fee at the time the card is made, please indicate on the application if individual or the department is paying the issuance fee.
