The University of Nebraska - Lincoln provides parking within walking and shuttle distance of major campus facilities for students, faculty/staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors. The University issues permits to accommodate vehicles driven to campus and has established regulations for governing their use. By familiarizing yourself with these regulations and campus maps, you will find parking on campus to be much easier.

There is ample parking in the lots signed as Perimeter Parking located on the north edge of City Campus. A Perimeter Permit is available for economical and convenient parking in these lots. A free shuttle service is available.

Visitor Parking
Visitor parking is available in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage west of Memorial Stadium, 17th & R Parking Garage, metered areas, and time-controlled zones located throughout campus. (24-hour parking in the Stadium Driver Parking Garage is prohibited unless authorized by Parking and Transit Services.) Permits for parking at the 17th & R Parking Garage may be purchased on site. When parking in any other campus location, the visitor needs to obtain a Visitor's Permit. This permit, which hangs from the vehicle's rearview mirror, will indicate the area where you may park and can be obtained from the Parking and Transit Services Office or at the East Campus Union. The department you are visiting may also issue a Departmental Guest Permit for convenience. UNL, UNK, UNO, and UNMC faculty/staff and students do not qualify as visitors on UNL campuses. These individuals must park in their assigned locations, using a permit purchased from their respective campuses or at UNL. Any visitor parking a vehicle registered on campus by a faculty/staff or student, must abide by the rules andregulations of UNL Parking and Transit Services.

Reserved Parking
Those faculty/staff and students wishing to purchase reserved parking must contact UNL Parking and Transit Services and make any arrangements necessary. Faculty/staff are assigned to area 17 lots and cummuter students are assigned to the area 28 lot. These lots are reserved only from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of 17R which is reserved until 8:00 p.m. Resident students are assigned to Area 4 and 8 lots. These lots are assigned to students on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis due to their campus residency. Members of fraternities and sororities not residing in their particular house on campus will be eligible for Area 28 only.

Reserved permits will be assigned as close as possible to the individual's on-campus address or department, but are sold only when space is available. Individual reserved stalls are no longer available.
