SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE/REPAIR

Vehicles owned by the University of Nebraska fall into two categories. Vehicles owned by Transportation Services, and vehicles owned by other University departments.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES VEHICLES

Pre-approval is required from Transportation Services for non-fuel vehicle expenditures estimated to cost more than $50.00. Approval may be obtained by calling (402) 472-2422, or 472-7937. After hours within the Lincoln calling area, call the University operator (402) 472-7211 for connection with the proper individual. After hours outside the Lincoln calling area, call (800) 332-0265 for connection with the proper individual.

LOCATIONS

Transportation Services maintains a complete service and repair facility at 1931 N. Antelope Valley Parkway, Lincoln NE, call (402) 472-7937 to schedule service. All service, maintenance, and repair of Transportation Services vehicles in the Lincoln area should be performed at this facility. Department owned vehicles in the Lincoln area are encouraged, but not required to utilize these facilities.
When servicing a vehicle outside the Lincoln area, please coordinate the maintenance and repair with the Transportation Services shop to assure comprehensive use of warranty, benefit of available discounts and quality of repair. Please call (402) 472-7937 for coordination and determination on whether to return the vehicle to Transportation Services for repair or have repair completed at a commercial facility.
Failure to secure approval for service or repair expenditures over $50.00 may result in a charge to the using department.

DEPARTMENT OWNED VEHICLES

Pre-approval is required from the University department owning the vehicle for non-fuel vehicle expenditures estimated to cost more than $50.00. Approval can be obtained by contacting the departments' vehicle coordinator. When requested, Transportation Services will advise or assist departments in approving vehicle repairs. After hours within the Lincoln calling area, call the University operator (402) 472-7211 for connection with the proper individual. After hours outside the Lincoln calling area, call (800) 332-0265 for connection with the proper individual.

When requested, Transportation Services will advise or assist departments in coordinating vehicle repairs outside the Lincoln area.

Failure to secure departmental approval for service or repair expenditures over $50.00 may result in corrective actions.
