Receipt and Delivery of Merchandise

User departments should receive most shipments directly.
Exceptions are:

  1. The shipment requires special handling.
  2. Installation or set-up is required.
  3. Previous delivery arrangements have been made.
  4. Exact delivery address has not been indicated.

When the above exceptions exist, the merchandise, generally, will be delivered to UNL's central shipping/receiving location at Mail & Distribution Services, 1100 N 17th Street, 472-2286. When this occurs, there is a re-delivery charge to the requesting department.

No C.O.D.'s are allowed.

Damage or Shortage Claims -- Shipments being received by departments should be checked against the receiving document and inspected for damage. Damages/shortages should be noted directly on the receiving document before acceptance. All damage (as noted or concealed) should be reported immediately to our Customer Service Hotline, 2-5050. Any damage to UPS or RPS shipments, the vendor should be notified immediately, as well as, noted on the delivery/receiving document.
