Preventive Maintenance Lead Beth Barry (Building Systems Maintenance) has been named the recipient of the Summer 2026 B+F Bravo Award.
"Beth has made a significant impact on Business and Finance and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln through her outstanding commitment to stewardship, collaboration, clear and consistent service and forward-thinking solutions," her nominator wrote. "As a refrigeration technician by trade and now a Preventive Maintenance Lead, Beth brings exceptional technical knowledge, drive and organizational ability to every aspect of her work. She has taken a developing preventive maintenance program and transformed it into a structured, effective and trusted operation."
Beth’s nominator added that her work helps ensure critical building systems and equipment remain reliable and available for campus operations by identifying issues before they become costly failures. Beth also led efforts to integrate the work order system with GIS, improving efficiency, saving staff time and strengthening how maintenance information is used across campus.
Business and Finance staff can be nominated for the B+F Bravo Award by demonstrating significant impact to Business and Finance units and/or the University of Nebraska–Lincoln more broadly by exemplifying the department's six values and principles: Trust and Integrity, Collaboration, Stewardship, Invest in Our People, Deliver Clear and Consistent Service and Communication, and Drive Forward-thinking Solutions.
Up to two awards are presented annually, one in July and one in December. Nominations submitted December through May are considered for the July award, and nominations submitted June through November are considered for the December award.
